Biography
Derek Wulf is a Republican state representative for Iowa House District 76, serving Black Hawk County, including areas like Hudson, Traer, Dysart, and Buckingham. Born in 1981 in rural Black Hawk County, he was raised and resides in Hudson with his wife, Dresden , and their two daughters, Aubrey and Claire. A fourth-generation farmer/rancher, Wulf previously worked 15 years at Cargill Inc. as a swine nutrition and production specialist. He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hudson and was first elected in 2022, now serving his second term in the Iowa House . Notable positions include Chair of the Agriculture Committee and Vice Chair of Natural Resources, with additional service on State Government, Ways and Means, and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of Hudson High School; Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Iowa State University.
- Political Experience: Elected to Iowa House District 76 in 2022; serving since 2023 in General Assemblies 90 and 91 .
