Dennis Tipsword Jr. is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 105th District since January 2023. Born and raised in Woodford County, Illinois, he resides in Metamora with his wife Betsy , three children, and seven grandchildren. A 30-year law enforcement veteran, he serves as Chief Deputy of the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office and remains an active duty officer. He is a former small business owner, 14-year member of the Woodford County Republican Central Committee, 15-year volunteer youth sports coach, and member of the Sons of American Legion. Elected to the Illinois House in 2022, he brings extensive public safety experience to his role.

• Education: Graduate of Metamora Township High School, Western Illinois University, University of Illinois Police Training Institute, and Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
• Political Experience: Elected to the Illinois House of Representatives for the 105th District in 2022; serving in the 104th General Assembly .
