Biography
Representative Dennis Moss
Dennis Carroll Moss is a Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives representing District 29, which encompasses Cherokee, Spartanburg, and York Counties. Born January 13, 1954, in Union, South Carolina, Moss has been serving in the state legislature since 2007. He is a retired officer of the South Carolina Highway Patrol and resides in Gaffney, South Carolina, with his wife Janet, whom he married on June 24, 1978. The couple has one child, Brandon Lindsay. Moss is affiliated with the Methodist Church and maintains active membership in numerous civic organizations, including Lions International, Sertoma International, and the National Rifle Association.
Education
Moss graduated from Union High School in 1972 and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. He also completed training through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy as part of his law enforcement career.
Political Experience
Moss has held several significant positions within the South Carolina House of Representatives. He currently serves as Chairman of the House Invitations and Memorial Resolutions Committee. Throughout his tenure, he has held membership on various committees, including the Ethics Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and subcommittees focused on Sales and Use Tax, Income Tax, and Special Laws. His service reflects a sustained commitment to his constituents and to state governance and policy decisions.
