Biography
Dennis Guth is a Republican state senator representing District 28 in the Iowa Senate. Born in 1955, he has lived his entire life on the family farm north of Klemme in Hancock County, where he works as a farmer at Guth Farms, Inc. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Margaret , for over 40 years; they have two sons, three daughters, and nine grandchildren. Guth serves on key Senate committees including Agriculture, Appropriations, Health and Human Services, Local Government, and State Government, and chairs the Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee. Notable involvements include past presidencies of the Hancock County Farm Bureau and Klemme Area Development Organization, membership on the Hancock County Pork Producers Board, past service on the Family Leader Board of Directors, past chair of Ell Township Republicans, former elder at Britt Evangelical Free Church, and co-founder of LUV IA. He is also a member of Corn and Soybean Associations and the NRA.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Klemme Community School in 1973; earned a B.S. in Agricultural Mechanization from Iowa State University in 1977.
