Denise Hayman

Denise Hayman is a Democratic state senator representing District 33 in Bozeman, Montana .

Denise Hayman was born on January 1, 1951. She moved to Bozeman in 1986 and has been deeply involved in her community ever since. Before entering electoral politics, she spent 14 years as an elected member of the Bozeman School Board beginning in 2000. During her time on the school board, she was active in raising funds for schools and volunteered as Parent Advisory Council president for Willson Science and Technology School and later Irving School.

Political Experience

Hayman's legislative career began in 2014 when she was elected to the Montana House of Representatives representing District 66, where she served for eight years . During her tenure in the House, she served on multiple committees including the Energy, Technology and Federal Relations Committee , the State and Veterans Administration Committee, the Education, Department of Health and Human Services and Local Government committees, and the Audit Committee, which she chaired.

In 2023, she transitioned to the Montana Senate, representing District 33. In her current role, she serves as vice chair of the Senate State Administration Committee and the Senate Legislative Administration Committee. She also holds positions on the Senate Taxation Committee, Senate Energy and Telecommunications Committee, and Senate Executive Review Committee.

Throughout her legislative work, Hayman has focused on legislation protecting Montanans' finances, promoting job creation, and protecting the environment, often working across party lines to advance these goals.
