Born on November 4, 1990, in Cape Coral, Florida, Demi Busatta Cabrera resides in Coral Gables with her husband, Kevin. Daughter of a 22-year law enforcement veteran and sister to a current police officer and combat veteran, she emphasizes public safety. As granddaughter of small business owners, she supports financial literacy and small businesses. A Catholic, she works as a Nonprofit Development Director for adults with developmental disabilities.
Notable achievements and positions include sponsoring legislation to combat flooding and sea-level rise statewide, and passing a requirement for high school students to take a personal financial literacy course to graduate. She chairs the State Administration & Technology Appropriations Subcommittee, and serves on the Appropriations Committee, Joint Legislative Budget Commission, Select Committee on Hurricane Resiliency & Recovery, State Affairs Committee, and Agriculture, Conservation & Resiliency Subcommittee.
