Representative Debra Moody
Debra Moody is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing District 81 since 2013. Notable achievements include serving as Chair of the Education Instruction Committee and supporting the 2023 expulsion of three Democratic lawmakers for decorum violations.
Debra Moody, born May 28, 1956, was first elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 81 in 2012 after defeating opponents in the Republican primary and general election. She has been reelected multiple times, including running in 2024, and previously sought the Tennessee State Senate in District 81 in 2022. Moody holds key committee roles such as Chair of the Education Instruction Committee, Member of the Calendar and Rules Committee, Criminal Justice Committee, and Subcommittee on Criminal Justice.
