Biography
Debra D. Gardner is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing District 76, which includes parts of Chesterfield County. Born in 1956 in Shelby, North Carolina, she is a long-time resident of North Chesterfield, Virginia, for over 30 years, where she lives with her daughter as a single mother. A small business owner and former social worker, she has dedicated her career to public service, advocacy for those in need, and community leadership.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.A. in sociology from North Carolina Central University; Master's in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she taught graduate courses in executive leadership.
- Political Experience: Serves as Delegate for House District 76 . Previously held chief deputy positions in three state agencies.
- Notable Achievements and Positions: Tireless advocate with board service on Smart Beginnings, Homeward, Senior Connections, Virginia Drug Treatment Court Advisory Committee, Virginia Substance Abuse Services Council, and Domestic Violence Prevention Advisory Board.
