Biography
Deborah "Debbie" Cordz Dolgin is a Republican representative for the Caledonia-Essex district in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving areas including St. Johnsbury, Concord, and Kirby since 2025. Born and raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey, as the youngest of three children, she graduated high school in 1970, moved to Vermont in 1975, and settled in the Northeast Kingdom ten years later. She married Steve Dolgin, a St. Johnsbury native, 31 years ago; they have three grown children and eight grandchildren, and co-own Dolgin Realty where she serves as bookkeeper. Notable achievements include winning the Vermont State Female Powerlifting Championship in 1989, developing aviation afterschool programs with her husband after earning pilot licenses in 2011, and providing free flights to children through the Experimental Aircraft Association at Caledonia County Airport. She has served three years on the board of Catamount Arts and fundraises for it by teaching waterskiing.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from SUNY Plattsburgh; Master's in Education from the University of Vermont .
- Professional Experience: Taught middle school in Lyndonville, Vermont, for seven years, including writing curriculum and expanding Home Economics to five outlying schools.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 2025 as a Republican for Caledonia-Essex; serves on the House Committee on General and Housing. Runs on platforms emphasizing fiscal responsibility, affordability, and common-sense leadership.
