Biography
Deborah A. Fellela is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 43 in Johnston since her first election in November 2006. She serves as Senior Deputy Majority Leader and holds key committee roles, including first vice chair of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, second vice chair of the House Conduct Committee, and member of the House Labor and House Oversight Committees. Notable achievements include sponsoring laws to penalize overmedication prescribers , extend paid family caregiving for those with developmental disabilities , waive state park fees for Gold Star Families, target reckless opioid prescriptions with increased fines , and facilitate mutual consent reunions for adopted adults with birth families. A retired school department employee and active in her community as a communicant at Our Lady of Grace Church and former housing commissioner, she has four children and three grandchildren.

- Professional Background: Worked 28 years with the Providence School Department, retiring in July 2020 as secretary to the principal of Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School.
