Biography

DeAnn Vaught is a Republican representing District 87 in the Arkansas House of Representatives, which includes all of Little River County, Sevier County, and part of Howard County . She is a Baptist, farmer by occupation, and resides in Horatio with her husband Jon, with whom she has been married for over 32 years; they have three daughters and operate 12 chicken houses along with a dairy and hog farm. Currently serving her sixth term , she holds seniority of 21 and notable positions including Chair of the House Management Committee, Chair of Girls State, and service on the House Education Committee, House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, Arkansas Legislative Council, House Rules Committee, and as Alternate on the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee. Among her achievements, she has served as Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore , Co-Chair of Policy Development on the Arkansas Legislative Council, Co-Chair of the Prayer Caucus for four years, Secretary of the House Sportsman’s Caucus, and was appointed by the Governor as a Commissioner on the Education Commission of the States . She is a member of the Farm Bureau and Pork Producers, advocating for rural values.

Education and Political Experience

Vaught graduated from Horatio High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business from Southern Arkansas University.

Her political experience began with her first term in the House in 2015, followed by re-elections in subsequent cycles through 2025 for the 95th General Assembly; she previously chaired the House Committee on Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development.
