Biography
Dean Rummel is a Republican member of the North Dakota Senate representing District 37 , serving since 2023. He is retired from TMI Systems Design Corp., married to Danita with three children, and active in community service including the Dickinson Public School Board , SCORE Mentor, TMI Board, Badlands Crime Stoppers, Dickinson Rural Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Dickinson Volunteer Fire Department, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Notable positions include support for pro-education policies such as expanding free school lunches, lowering teacher licensure years for lifetime licenses, opposing private school vouchers, and expanding childcare funding ; he opposed ending NDPERS pensions and tenure rights at state colleges.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: BA in Business Administration/Accounting from Dickinson State University ; attended University of North Dakota .
