Biography
Delegate Dean Jeffries
Dean Jeffries was born on September 29, 1971, in Charleston, West Virginia. He is married to Stacey and has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. His parents are Ted and Mary Jeffries, and he identifies as Christian.
Before entering politics, Jeffries built a diverse career in healthcare and insurance. He began as an area manager for Sun Healthcare and worked as a coach at both Elkview Middle School and Capital High School. He joined State Farm in 2004 as a field specialist and became a licensed insurance agent in 2006.
Education
Jeffries earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Charleston.
Political Experience
Jeffries was appointed to the West Virginia House of Delegates in September 2018, representing District 61 in Kanawha County. Within the legislature, he has held several leadership positions, serving as vice chair of the House Health and Human Resources Committee, chair of the House Enrolled Bills Committee, and co-chair of the House Committee on Flooding.
In the 2025 legislative session, Delegate Jeffries sponsored four bills, including measures addressing orphan roads and bridges, firefighter work hour regulations, breast density notification requirements, and property and casualty insurance policies.
