Biography
Dawson Holle is a Republican representative for District 31 in the North Dakota House of Representatives, serving since 2023. Born on November 25, 2003, in Bismarck, North Dakota, he is a fifth-generation dairy farmer and the youngest elected lawmaker in state history, winning his seat at age 18 while still in high school. He defeated 10-year incumbent Jim Schmidt in the 2022 Republican primary and won the general election, focusing on rural issues like agriculture and dairy farming reforms, including raw milk sales and milk definitions.
Education and Political Experience
Holle is a student at the University of Mary and involved with the North Dakota Young Republicans. Elected in 2022 during his senior year at Mandan High School, he was sworn in on December 1, 2022. Notable positions include Co-Chair of the North Dakota chapter of Future Caucus, recipient of a 2025 Future Caucus Innovation Fellowship for Energy and Environment, and the youngest chairman of the interim Tribal and State Relations Committee; he led a bipartisan effort to create the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Task Force.
