Dawn Euer is a Democrat representing District 13 in the Rhode Island State Senate. Elected in a 2017 special election, she is an activist and organizer from a working-class background who led the fight for marriage equality in Rhode Island. Notable achievements include sponsoring the 2021 Act on Climate, the most comprehensive climate legislation in state history, updating emission reduction goals to be legally enforceable; the 2019 Student Loan Bill of Rights to protect borrowers from predatory lending; the Reproductive Privacy Act to codify abortion access; and legislation ensuring insurance coverage for a full year of contraception. She chairs the Senate Committee on Judiciary, serves on the Senate Committee on Rules, Government Ethics & Oversight, and the Senate Committee on Special Legislation & Veterans' Affairs, and advocates for environmental justice, economic justice, women's rights, education funding, and electoral modernization.

Education and Political Experience

Euer is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association Board of Delegates. She previously served as Supervising Attorney at Roger Williams University School of Law Pro Bono Collaborative and held board positions with Higher Ground International, Environmental Justice League of RI, Bike Newport, and Newport's Energy & Environment Commission. She currently serves as General Counsel for the Capital Good Fund, a nonprofit providing pathways out of poverty through inclusive lending. In the Senate, she has fought for restored education funding, inclusion of teachers on the Department of Education board, streamlined processes for families with individualized education plans, and the Environmental Justice Act.
