David Vaughan is a Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives representing District 27 . Born January 21, 1965, in Greenville, South Carolina, he is a businessman and general contractor who assumed office on December 6, 2022, after winning the 2022 Republican primary with 52% of the vote and the general election unopposed, succeeding Garry R. Smith. He owns businesses including self-storage units, home healthcare, ammunition manufacturing, and storage maintenance, and holds licenses in insurance and real estate. Married to Celeste Martin since 1989, with three children: Miranda, Trevor, and Marlee.
