Biography
David R. Suetterlein is a Republican state senator representing District 4 in the Virginia Senate, which includes all of Roanoke City and Salem City, as well as parts of Roanoke County and Montgomery County. Born on January 4, 1985, he was elected in 2015 and took office in 2016. He lives in Roanoke County with his wife, Ashley, a registered nurse, and their four children. Suetterlein works as a real estate agent with MKB, REALTORS. Notable achievements include authoring over 50 bills passed into law with bipartisan support, focusing on tax relief, fair electric rates, and expanded education opportunities; securing resources for Catawba Hospital, the Fralin Biomedical Center, research labs in Roanoke and New River Valleys, and a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Salem; and receiving awards from the U.S. Department of Defense, Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Manufacturers Association, and healthcare groups.

- Education: Earned a B.A. from Grove City College with high honors after attending Virginia public schools.
- Early Political Roles: Served on the campaign and Senate staff of Ken Cuccinelli; legislative director for predecessor Ralph K. Smith; Chair and Secretary of the Roanoke County Republican Party.
