Biography

David H. Moon is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 20 in Montgomery County. First elected in 2014 and serving since 2015, he became House Majority Leader in 2023. Born January 28, 1979, in Takoma Park, Maryland, and raised in Montgomery County, he is an Asian American who chairs the Maryland Legislative Asian-American & Pacific-Islander Caucus. Notable achievements include advocating for election reform, police accountability, education equity, open government, and affordable housing; co-sponsoring the More Opportunities for Career-Focused Students Act ; and prior recognition as one of the best state political bloggers by The Washington Post in 2013. He serves on the Judiciary Committee , Rules & Executive Nominations Committee, Joint Audit & Evaluation Committee, Legislative Policy Committee, and Spending Affordability Committee, and leads the Consent Calendars Committee and Joint Federal Action Oversight Committee.
