Biography
David Hale
Charles David Hale is a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing Kentucky's 74th House district, which includes Bath, Menifee, and Montgomery County. He has served in the House since 2015.
Hale is a pastor and community leader who identifies with the Church of God. He has served as the senior pastor of The Korea Church of God in Wellington, Kentucky since 1998. He is also active in community organizations, including membership in Horizons of Hope and the Kentucky Ministries Association.
Education
Hale graduated from Menifee County High School in 1974.
Political Experience
Before his election to the legislature, Hale worked for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources at the Minor Clark State Fish Hatchery, where he was employed from 1975 until his retirement in 2004.
In his legislative career, Hale has held several key committee positions. He currently serves as Chair of the State Government Committee and holds a ranking member position on the Budget Review Subcommittee on Personnel, Public Retirement, and Finance. He is also a member of multiple committees including Agriculture, Transportation, and Joint Committees on Appropriations and Revenue, Tourism, Small Business, and Information Technology, and Transportation.
Hale won his initial election to the House in 2014, defeating the Democratic incumbent Richard Henderson with 52.8% of the vote. In 2024, he ran unopposed in both the Republican primary and general election.
