Biography
David C. Eastman Jr. is a Republican politician who served as a member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing District 27 until January 2025. He represented the rural Mat-Su Valley, including areas like Wasilla, and held the most conservative voting record in the legislature according to the American Conservative Union. Notable achievements include perfect attendance at every voting session since election, service as a West Point graduate and U.S. Army Captain with deployments in Operation Terminal Fury and Operation Enduring Freedom, and roles as a firefighter/EMT, member of the AK-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team, and former police officer. He lives outside Wasilla with his wife Jennifer and their five children.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Law & Legal Studies from the United States Military Academy at West Point ; MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Acton School of Business; Master of Arts in Apologetics from Biola University. Named State Eagle Scout of the Year and runner-up for National Eagle Scout of the Year.
- Political Experience: Elected for four terms ; served on committees including House Rules, House Judiciary, House Fisheries, and House Health and Social Services. Ran on a platform of fiscal and social conservative reform; 2016 Alaska Deputy State Director for Trump/Pence Campaign; campaign manager for Joe Miller's successful 2010 U.S. Senate primary against Lisa Murkowski. Censured by the House for controversial remarks on abortion.
