Biography
Representative David Durfee
David K. Durfee is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives representing the Bennington-3 District. He represents the towns of Glastenbury, Shaftsbury, and Sunderland in Bennington County. Durfee grew up in rural upstate New York and has established himself as a community-focused representative with deep roots in local governance and business leadership.
Durfee is a consultant to cooperatives, non-profits, and small businesses. He previously served as General Manager of Wild Oats Market and has been instrumental in various community organizations. He and his wife Melanie have three sons.
Education
Durfee graduated from Williams College and earned an MBA from Cornell University, providing him with a strong educational foundation in both liberal arts and business administration.
Political Experience
Durfee was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 2018 and has served continuously since 2019. Beyond his legislative role, he holds several significant positions:
