Biography
David M. Rogers is a Democratic state representative for the 24th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving the communities of Arlington, Belmont, and Cambridge since January 7, 2013. A resident of Cambridge, he has established himself as a progressive leader, chairing the House Committee on Cannabis Policy, serving on the MBTA Caucus and the Steering Committee of the Progressive Caucus. Notable achievements include securing major increases in environmental protection funding, sponsoring multi-state offshore wind procurement to reduce emissions and create jobs, filing legislation endorsed by the Boston Globe and the state supreme court chief justice to protect low-income tenants from eviction, and collaborating with the ACLU to limit biometric surveillance technology.
Education and Political Experience
Rogers initially pursued music at Ithaca College, performing professionally before shifting to economics. He holds a law degree from American University and worked as an economic consultant and attorney at a leading Boston firm for nearly two decades. His prior public service includes roles in the U.S. Capitol, White House, and the Criminal Division of the Environmental Protection Agency. Elected in 2012, he has served four terms and continues advocating for progressive policies.
