Biography
Representative Dave Delloso
David M. Delloso was born on June 18, 1965, and was born and raised in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania. He is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 162nd Legislative District since January 1, 2019. Delloso won his initial election in 2018, defeating opponent Mary Hopper with 12,826 votes. The seat became available after the previous representative, Nicholas Miccarelli III, declined to run.
Education
Delloso attended Academy Park High School as a member of its first graduating class. He went on to attend Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Business Administration and Accounting.
Political Experience
Before entering the state legislature, Delloso built a career in labor and transportation. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from April 1984 through April 1990, and re-enlisted from December 1990 until his honorable discharge in February 1993.
Delloso began his working career as a truck driver for Collingdale Millwork and Lumber in 1985 and joined the Teamsters Union in 1986. He briefly worked as an independent trucker from 1989 to 1994 before returning to union work hauling new cars in Twin Oaks, Pennsylvania. He rose through the ranks of Teamsters Local 312 in Chester, holding positions including Shop Steward and ultimately serving as President and Principal Officer of the union for ten years prior to his election to the state legislature.
As a state representative, Delloso has focused on advocating for working-class interests, including fair wages, benefits, healthcare, dignified retirement, equitable taxation, and full funding of public schools.
