Biography
Senator David W. Craven Jr. is a Republican representing District 29 in the North Carolina State Senate, covering Anson, Montgomery, Randolph, Richmond, and parts of Union counties. Born around 1990, he is a native of Randolph County and the youngest serving Republican member of the Senate. Appointed in 2020, he won election that year and re-election in 2022. Notable achievements include serving as Co-Chair of the Finance Committee and membership on committees such as Agriculture, Energy, and Environment; Commerce and Insurance; Judiciary; Pensions and Retirement and Aging; Regulatory Reform; Appropriations on Education/Higher Education; and the Joint Legislative Commission on Government Operations. He has focused on education and economic issues, and previously served as chairman of the Randolph County Republican Party, senior vice president at Fidelity Bank , and on various boards including the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, Randolph County Economic Development Corporation, and North Carolina Travel and Tourism Board.
