Dave Bedey is a Republican representative for Montana House District 86 , serving since 2019. A retired U.S. Army colonel with 30 years of service as a combat engineer and faculty at the United States Military Academy at West Point, he currently works as chief financial officer for an engineering firm. Notable positions include Vice-chair of the House Appropriations Committee; he announced candidacy for Senate District 43. In 2025, he was one of six Republicans voting against a resolution congratulating Donald Trump on re-election. He won re-election in 2024 with 1,870 votes .
