Biography
Darin Chappell was born on May 28, 1966. He resides in Rogersville, Missouri, within Greene County. Before entering the state legislature, Chappell served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Reserve. His professional career includes tenure as a city administrator for the cities of Chillicothe, Bolivar, and Seymour. He has also worked as an adjunct professor at Missouri State University. In his personal life, Chappell is the uncle of singer-songwriter Chappell Roan.
Education
Chappell graduated from Springfield Kickapoo High School. He pursued higher education at Missouri State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science. He subsequently obtained a master's degree in public administration from the same institution.
Political Experience
Chappell is a member of the Republican Party serving in the Missouri House of Representatives for District 137. He assumed office on January 4, 2023, and his current term is set to end on January 6, 2027.
Elections
- 2022: Chappell won the Republican primary against Thomas Barr. He subsequently won the general election without opposition.
- 2024: Chappell won the Republican primary without opposition. In the general election, he defeated Democratic candidate Bryce Lockwood.
