Biography
Dante Pittman is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 24 . First elected in 2024, he defeated incumbent Republican Ken Fontenot with 51.10% of the vote. A native of Wilson County from a multi-generational family there, Pittman works as a grant writer and currently at Barton College. He serves as a Captain in the North Carolina Army National Guard since December 2015 and is dedicated to affordable housing, public education, and economic opportunity in eastern North Carolina. Notable community roles include Chair of the Wilson County Department of Social Services Board of Directors, board member of the Wilson Education Partnership, Kiwanis Club of Wilson All-American, Whirlidogs Training Center and Cafe, and previously the Wilson Chamber of Commerce.
