Biography
Daniel J. Ryan is a Democratic representative in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving the 2nd Suffolk District since being sworn in on April 16, 2014, following a special election after Eugene O'Flaherty's resignation. Currently in his 6th term, he chairs the Joint Committee on Election Laws and prioritizes economic disparity, housing, transportation, and infrastructure. He has run unopposed in recent primaries and general elections.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Christopher Columbus High School ; A.M. in College History & Legal Studies, Salem; J.D. from Massachusetts School of Law, Andover .
- Political Experience: Ward 2 Democratic Committee; elected to the 2nd Suffolk seat in 2014 special election ; re-elected unopposed multiple times; serves in Room 156 at the State House. Previous involvement includes Abraham Lincoln VFW Post II, Charlestown Boys and Girls Club Board, and Bunker Hill Associates.
