Biography

Representative Daniel Singh

Daniel J. Singh is a Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives representing District 61 in Laramie County. Born in 1997 in Torrington, Wyoming, Singh was raised in LaGrange as the son of Evangelical missionaries who emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago. His multicultural upbringing, including his father's Trinidadian background, shaped his commitment to community service and bridging cultural divides.

Singh grew up traveling internationally with his family's missionary work, serving in countries including Trinidad, Guyana, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Belize, as well as domestically in locations such as Watts, California and the Rosebud Reservation with the Lakota people. These experiences fostered his passion for service and cultural understanding. He remains actively involved in local ministry, serving with his home church in Cheyenne and participating in the Cheyenne Chamber Singers.

Education

Singh graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 2015. He pursued higher education in political science at Casper College and earned an associate degree in Biblical Studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College in 2020. His educational background reflects his diverse interests in both governance and faith-based study.

Political Experience

Singh was first elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives in November 2022 and assumed office on January 2, 2023. At age 26, he is one of the three youngest members of the Wyoming State Legislature and one of the few Generation Z lawmakers serving in the state.

In his first term, Singh demonstrated legislative effectiveness by passing a bipartisan bill to decriminalize vehicle idling in Wyoming, seeking political support across the aisle. He serves on the House Judiciary and House Education committees. His legislative interests align with his personal passions, focusing on issues including invasive species management, wildlife management, animal crossings, and cultural heritage preservation.

Before entering elected office, Singh worked in customer service and restaurant leadership roles, including as a shift leader at Starbucks.
