Biography of Dan Ramos

Dan Ramos was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who represented Ohio's 56th District in the Ohio House of Representatives.

Education

Ramos was a lifetime resident of Lorain, Ohio, and graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 2003.

Political Experience

Ramos served in the Ohio House of Representatives from January 2011 to January 2019, representing the 56th District. During his tenure, he held the position of House Assistant Minority Whip from 2013 to 2014.

Prior to his election to the state house, Ramos gained experience working in legislative and political roles, including positions as a Legislative Aide to Representative Koziura, Policy Aide to Leader Beatty, and Senior Policy Analyst for Speaker Budish. He also served as Assistant Political Director for the House Caucus and worked on field staff for the House Democratic Caucus and Ohio Democratic Party during the 2004 and 2006 election cycles.

Throughout his time in the legislature, Ramos was elected with strong support from his district, winning reelection in 2012, 2014, and 2016. In 2022, he withdrew from a race for the 53rd District.
