Biography

Daniel Pae is a Republican representing House District 62 in west Lawton, Oklahoma, in the Oklahoma House of Representatives since 2018. Born July 25, 1995, he was the youngest member of the House at age 23 upon election. Notable achievements include the 2019 Rising Star Award from the International Leadership Foundation for contributions to the Asian Pacific American community, the 2022 Council of State Governments’ 20 Under 40 Leadership Award, the 2022 Oklahoma State Regents Distinguished Service Awards for Higher Education, and the 2022 Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women’s Guardian Award. He serves as chair of the House A&B Human Services Subcommittee, co-chair of the Mental Health Caucus, co-vice chair of the House State and Federal Redistricting Committee, co-chair of the Oklahoma chapter of Future Caucus, and founder of the Legislative Asian American and Pacific Islander Caucus. Pae won re-election in 2024 with 57% of the vote.

Education and Political Experience

Pae attended Lawton High School and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2017 with bachelor's degrees in economics and political science, plus a master's degree in public administration. Before election, he worked in municipal government as a part-time administrator and administrative assistant in the Lawton City Manager’s Office. He serves on boards including Young Professionals of Lawton, Leadership Lawton Fort Sill, and Marie Detty Youth & Family Services.
