Biography
Dana Prieto is a Republican member of the Oklahoma Senate representing District 34 in Tulsa County, elected in 2022 after defeating incumbent Democrat J.J. Dossett. Born and raised in Amherst, western New York, as the grandson of immigrants, he graduated high school there and built a successful carpet and tile floor cleaning company before moving to Oklahoma in 1991. He owns Everlasting Enterprises, an online marketing company for small businesses, and is known for his guitar playing, performing at churches including Millennial Church in Tulsa, where he and his wife are members; they have two grown daughters and two grandchildren. Prieto describes his politics as "very conservative" and "on the far right," with endorsements from Christian nationalist groups during his campaign.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Niagara Community College and Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow; studied web design at Tulsa Community College.
- Political Experience: Previously campaigned for the Republican nomination in Oklahoma's 36th Senate District in 2018; won District 34 seat in 2022 and assumed office on November 16, 2022. Serves on committees including Senate Judiciary.
