Biography
Dana Levenberg is a Democratic and Working Families Party member representing New York's 95th Assembly District, which includes communities in northern Westchester and western Putnam County, such as the towns of Ossining, Cortlandt, and Philipstown; their villages; the City of Peekskill; and portions of Yorktown.
First elected to the New York State Assembly in 2022, she has established herself as a responsive and effective legislator, passing more prime-sponsored legislation than any other first-year member by the end of her initial session. Notable achievements include distributing over $7.5 million in grant funding for district programs and advocating for environmental sustainability, infrastructure improvements, and affordable communities. She serves on the Environmental Conservation, Housing, Corrections, Libraries and Education Technology, and Local Governments committees.
Education and Political Experience
Levenberg's political career began with community involvement, including serving on her sons' nursery school board, leading the PTA, and co-founding nonprofits, which led to advocacy and public service.
She served as chief of staff to former State Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, was elected to three terms on the Ossining School Board, and held four terms as Ossining Town Supervisor.
