Biography

Dana J. Ferrell is a Republican delegate representing District 60 in the West Virginia House of Delegates. Born on April 17, 1961, in Charleston, WV, he is an educator, business owner, and real estate developer. He is married to Tracy Ferrell, with children Brooks and Danica, and is Protestant. Notable achievements include coaching youth sports and being named "Coach of the Year" by Charleston Newspapers in 2004 for high school volleyball; bringing the WVSSAC State Volleyball Tournament to the Charleston Civic Center; operating West Virginia’s only all-sports network at RSN Sports; and developing Seneca Valley Estates subdivision. He serves on the Poca Valley Bank Advisory Board, Greater Sissonville Development Council, and chairs the Aldersgate UMC PPRC Committee. In 2026, he led sponsorship of 10 bills, including those on cosmetology licensure and volunteer fire departments.

Education and Political Experience

Education: A.A.S. in Business Management and Marketing and B.S. in Business Education from West Virginia State University ; M.A. in Special Education from Marshall University. He graduated from Sissonville High School.

Political Experience: Longtime Kanawha County teacher since 1989 and active community leader. Elected as Republican Delegate for District 60, with sponsored legislation in recent sessions covering education, fire departments, and professional compacts. Also a Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle coach and Sunday School teacher.
