Daniel P. Troy is a Democratic state representative for Ohio's 23rd House District, serving cities including Eastlake, Mentor-on-the-Lake, Richmond Heights, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Willowick, half of Mentor, and villages such as Gates Mills, Lakeline, Mayfield, and Timberlake. Born June 6, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, and hailing from Willowick, he is currently in his 10th term in the Ohio House, having been re-elected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Notable achievements include bipartisan legislation protecting Lake Erie and Ohio's environment, reducing student debt, and promoting economic growth; expertise in budgeting and taxation with numerous awards; and prior service as Lake County Commissioner for five terms, where he was twice elected President of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio —the first to hold that honor twice. His priorities focus on property tax reform, Lake Erie protection, economic improvement, and support for working families, seniors, and local communities.
