Biography
Dan McCay is a Republican state senator representing District 18 in the Utah State Senate, covering parts of Salt Lake and Utah counties. First appointed to the Utah House of Representatives in 2012 for District 41, he served there until 2019, then transitioned to the Senate, representing District 11 from 2019-2023 before District 18 from 2023 onward. He resides in Riverton, Utah, with his wife Tawnee and their six children, and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Notable achievements include chairing the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee and the Revenue and Taxation Interim Committee. He also serves on committees such as Senate Business and Labor, Economic Development and Workforce Services Confirmation, Judicial Confirmation, and various appropriations subcommittees.

- Education: Attended Grossmont Community College; earned a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and a master's degree in Instructional Design from Utah State University; received a J.D. from Willamette University.
