Biography
Representative Dan Griffey
Daniel G. Griffey was born in 1970 and is a lifelong resident of Washington, raised in Allyn. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Dinah, and together they have three daughters—Alyssa, Megan, and Sarah—and six grandchildren. Community service has been central to his life, inspired by his parents' involvement in local projects and events.
Education and Early Career
Griffey began his career in public service at age 16 as a volunteer firefighter. In 1992, he became a firefighter for the Central Mason Fire Department in Mason County, where he advanced to the rank of lieutenant.
Political Experience
Griffey represents Washington's 35th Legislative District, which encompasses Mason County and parts of Kitsap and Thurston counties. He is a member of the Republican Party.
In 2014, Griffey was elected to the Washington House of Representatives, defeating Democratic incumbent Kathy Haigh in a significant victory for Republicans that year. He was subsequently elected to House Republican leadership as the House Republican Whip in 2019 by his peers.
Currently, Griffey holds the following committee positions:

- Member of the Local Government Committee
- Member of the Transportation Committee
