Biography
Dan Gehlbach is a Republican representing Iowa House District 46, which includes parts of northwest Dallas County and parts of Grimes and Urbandale in Polk County. Born in 1977 in Des Moines, he was raised in Urbandale, graduated from Urbandale High School, and resides there with his wife, Staci, and two daughters. A small business owner, former high school teacher, and former certified internal auditor, he has served in the Iowa House since January 2023. Notable achievements include serving on the House Education Committee, contributing to raising beginning teacher pay to the 5th highest in the nation, advancing school choice reforms, protecting children from certain medical procedures, and supporting income tax relief to 3.8% and property tax reforms.

- Education: Bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence; master's degree from Arizona State University, Tempe.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Iowa House in November 2022 after winning the Republican nomination at a party convention; previously served on the Waukee Community School District Board of Directors as past Vice-President ; former member of Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce Board and Waukee Schools Foundation Board; graduate of West Des Moines Leadership Academy; PTO volunteer; member of Eternity Church.
