Biography
Daniel Alf Fister is a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing Kentucky's 56th district, which includes all of Woodford County and parts of Franklin and Jessamine counties. He assumed office on January 1, 2021, succeeding Joe Graviss. A retired general contractor, farmer, and property manager from Versailles, Kentucky, Fister has a background in business, agriculture, and public service. He is married to Vickie Kain Fister and has two children. Notable achievements include being named Conservationist of the Year by the Kentucky Wildlife Federation Foundation in 2005, receiving the Take Time For Life Award from Central Kentucky Right to Life in 2019, and recognition as a Conservative Kentucky Lawmaker by the American Conservative Union Foundation in 2021. He serves on committees such as *Agriculture *, Licensing, Occupations & Administrative Regulations, Small Business & Information Technology, and Tourism & Outdoor Recreation, and represents Kentucky on the Southern Legislative Conference Agriculture Committee.

- Education: Studied Ag Production at the University of Kentucky; Police Administration at Eastern Kentucky University; BA in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.
- Professional Experience: Started a small construction contracting business ; Deputy to the Fayette County Jailer ; Deputy and assistant bookkeeper to the Fayette County Clerk; Senior accountant for U.S. operations of a multinational corporation; Farmer and property manager.
- Political Experience: Chairman of the Woodford County Republican Party ; Elected to Kentucky House of Representatives, District 56 .
- Community Involvement: Life member and former President/Board member of Bluegrass Sportsmen’s League and League of Kentucky Sportsmen; Board of Directors for Central Kentucky Right to Life; Multiple terms as Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus at St. Leo’s Church in Versailles; Appointed by Governor Paul Patton to Kentucky Land Heritage Fund Board ; NRA member, Farm Bureau, Catholic.
