Biography
Dan Bishop is a Republican politician and attorney from North Carolina, born on July 1, 1964. He previously represented North Carolina's 8th and 9th congressional districts in the U.S. House of Representatives , serving from a 2019 special election until leaving office, listed as "Former Rep." who "Ran for Other Office." A conservative and Trump ally, he served on the House Judiciary Committee and the Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, where he opposed Biden administration policies and objected to Electoral College votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania. As of 2024-2026, he is running for North Carolina Attorney General, emphasizing defense of the rule of law against perceived Democratic abuses. Bishop was a commercial litigator for nearly three decades, recognized 10 times by Business NC’s “Legal Elite” and 7 times by “Super Lawyers.” Born and raised in North Carolina in a family of five children, he has been married to Jo for over 25 years; they have a son, Jack, pursuing a law degree.
