Biography
Dan Bishop is an American attorney and Republican politician who served as U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 8th congressional district from 2019 to 2025. He currently serves as the interim U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina. Elected in a special election on September 10, 2019, he won with 50.7% of the vote and was reelected in subsequent terms, but did not seek reelection to the 119th Congress in 2024 and ran unsuccessfully for North Carolina Attorney General.
