Biography

Dafna Michaelson Jenet is a former Democratic State Senator representing Senate District 21 in Colorado, covering parts of Adams and Arapahoe counties. She previously served eight years in the Colorado House of Representatives for Districts 30 and 32, was appointed to the Senate in 2023 following Sen. Dominick Moreno's resignation, and held leadership roles including President Pro Tempore, Chair of the House Public Health & Human Services Committee, and Vice Chair of the Senate Health & Human Services Committee. Her legislative priorities centered on mental health, youth services, foster care, healthcare access, and education; notable achievements include leading the ballot measure for free school meals for all Colorado kids, creating the I Matter program , mandating Holocaust and genocide education for high school graduation, and requiring insurance coverage for annual mental health exams.
