Biography
Cyndy Jacobsen is a Republican State Representative for Washington's 25th Legislative District , which includes Puyallup, South Hill, Midland, and part of Parkland. A lifelong Washingtonian, she has lived in the district for over three decades with her husband Doug, raising seven children and now with many grandchildren nearby. Prior to her legislative role, she served on the Puyallup City Council, where she focused on low taxes, government accountability, environmental cleanup at Clark’s Creek, and increased funding for first responders. As a state representative, she prioritizes issues like homelessness, mental health, addiction, equitable traffic funding, and job creation. Notable committee roles include assistant ranking member on the House Finance and Housing committees, member of the Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee and Select Committee on Pension Policy, and Co-Chair of the bipartisan Pierce County Delegation.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Holds a master’s degree in Professional Accountancy from Central Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics & Accounting from Western Washington University.
- Professional Background: Worked as a community college math teacher at Pierce College Puyallup Campus, private sector accountant, small business owner, real estate entrepreneur, and homeschool parent. Also volunteered as president, treasurer, and board member for parent, community, and faith-based groups.
- Political Experience: Elected to Puyallup City Council after door-to-door campaigning; currently serves as State Representative for the 25th District, bringing frugality, common sense, and a collaborative approach to Olympia.
