Representative Cyndie Romer

Cyndie Romer is a Democratic State Representative for District 25 in Delaware, serving the Newark area since 2022. She chairs the Technology & Telecommunications and Sunset committees, and is noted for advocacy in education equity, criminal justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and reproductive rights.

Cyndie Romer grew up in Hockessin as one of five children; her father was a Battalion Chief with the Wilmington Fire Department for 40 years, and her mother worked at DuPont after raising the family. She has lived in Newark since 2004 with her husband Steve, married since 2002, and their two daughters, Leah and Megan; they also have a dog named Bodhi. Romer works as Director at a technology consulting firm. She is active in community organizations including the NAACP Newark Branch , Moms Demand Action, ACLU-DE, Delaware Stonewall, S.A.F.E. Schools, and Newark Charter School’s Equity Champions Group, emphasizing equitable opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or economic status.
