Representative Curtis Travis ** represents **Alabama House District 72, which includes portions of Bibb, Greene, Hale, and Tuscaloosa counties. A first-term Democrat serving since 2023, he defeated incumbent Ralph Anthony Howard in the 2022 Democratic primary with 52% of the vote and won the general election unopposed. Born and raised in Sawyerville in Hale County, Travis is a father, builder, manager, and assistant pastor. Notable achievements include sponsoring or co-sponsoring 2024 legislation on simulcast racing in Greene County, fair terms for agricultural equipment sales, ad valorem taxes, property reappraisals every three years, and preserving Alabama's overtime pay tax exemption.
