Biography
Craig Williams is a Republican representative for Pennsylvania's 160th Legislative District, covering portions of Chester and Delaware Counties. A retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel with 28 years of service, he flew 56 combat missions in the F/A-18D during the Gulf War, served as a second lieutenant in the Persian Gulf War, and was decorated 11 times, including twice for valor in combat. Elected in 2020, he serves on committees including Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness, Aging & Older Adult Services, Human Services, and Energy. Notable achievements include passing fiscally responsible budgets without tax increases, securing record education funding, authoring legislation for a Gun Violence Task Force and adding human traffickers to the Sexual Offender Registry, advocating for addiction protections, and funding local infrastructure. He resides in Concord Township with his wife, Jennifer Arbittier Williams, and their four children, who attend or attended Garnet Valley School District. Williams is active in community service, coaching youth sports, volunteering with Boy Scouts, serving on the American Cancer Society's Philadelphia board, fundraising for Real Men Wear Pink, and providing pro bono legal aid through Wills for Heroes and the Homeless Advocacy Project.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University; Juris Doctor from University of Florida College of Law; Master of Laws in Jurisprudence, Virtue Ethics, and Criminal Law from Columbia University School of Law.
- Military and Legal Career: Attended law school while in the Marines; chief prosecutor for the largest Marine Corps base; deputy legal counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice; prosecutor for the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
- Political Experience: Sworn in as state representative in 2020 for the 160th District ; introduced legislation to limit lobbyist influence; promotes energy independence and open space funding.
