Biography
Craig Steven Williams
Craig Steven Williams is a Republican representing Iowa House District 11. He is 60 years old and has been married to his wife, Cindy, for 38 years. They have two married children, Steven and Stephanie.
Political Experience
Williams has an extensive background in Republican Party leadership and advocacy. In 2008, he was elected Chairman of the Carroll County Republican Central Committee, a position he continues to hold. That same year, Congressman Steve King honored him as the District's "Chairman of the Year."
In 2010, Williams became Treasurer for King for Congress and was elected to the Iowa Republican State Central Committee, where he was subsequently elected Treasurer of the Republican Party of Iowa. He has also served as Treasurer for Attorney General Brenna Bird.
Williams was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2023, following the retirement announcement of State Representative Brian Best. He serves on several standing committees, including Environmental Protection, Judiciary, and Local Government , as well as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee.
Early Political Involvement
Williams's political engagement began in 1982 when he volunteered on the re-election campaign of House Minority Leader Bob Michel while attending college. Throughout the following decades, he remained active in the Carroll County Republican Party, volunteering for various candidates and helping organize party events and conventions.
