Biography

Cory Tomczyk is a Republican Wisconsin State Senator representing District 29. Born and raised in Central Wisconsin, he and his wife Becky have lived in Mosinee since 1988, raising two children and three grandchildren. He founded and operates IROW, a family small business serving Central Wisconsin for over three decades, which was named the Wausau Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year. Elected to the Senate in 2022, he brings expertise in small business success and conservative principles to address economic growth and community needs. Notable committee roles in the 2023-2024 session include chair of Transportation and Local Government, vice-chair of Agriculture and Tourism, and member of Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage, Natural Resources and Energy, Council on Highway Safety, State Capitol and Executive Residence Board, and Transportation Projects Commission.

Education and Political Experience

  • Served on the Mosinee School Board from 2006–2019, including as president from 2010–2015.
  • Active in organizations such as i-SIGMA, NAID, Wausau Chamber of Commerce, and The Hope Food Pantry.
