Biography
Cory Chun is a Democratic politician representing District 35 in the Hawaii House of Representatives, which includes areas like Pearl City, Waipahu, and Crestview. He won the seat in the 2022 election against Republican Josiah Araki and continues to serve, focusing on public service amid challenges like economic stability post-COVID-19. Notable achievements include serving as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Corrections, Military, and Veterans; membership on the Finance and Water & Land committees; and co-convener of the Legislative Kūpuna Caucus. He has extensive community involvement, including 15 years on the Waipahū Neighborhood Board , Hawaii Disability Rights Center, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network , Patient Advisory Committee at University of Hawai'i Cancer Center, Waikele Community Policy Team, and Pearl City Lions Club.
