Clyde Lee Chambliss Jr. is a Republican state senator representing District 30 in the Alabama State Senate since 2014, covering all or parts of Autauga, Chilton, Coosa, Elmore, and Tallapoosa counties. Born on April 16, 1969, in Prattville, Alabama, he is married to Tara Herring and has three daughters: Kristen, Lauren, and Madison. As a civil engineer and principal of Chambliss Engineering, he provides services to local governments, developers, and water systems in Elmore and Autauga counties. Notable achievements include recognition as one of the "Leading 40 under 40" by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce in 2002 and Business Leader of the Year in 2009. He has led missionary efforts in Nicaragua to install water systems in rural schools and holds leadership roles such as Senate Majority Floor Leader, Majority Whip , and Chair of the Local Legislation Committee. In 2019, he sponsored the Human Life Protection Act, banning most abortions.
